[Windows] Moving installed Unreal Engine 4 into another system

Here is how to move installed (windows) Unreal Engine 4 into another fresh windows system without redownloading all entire files:

  1. Install Epic Games Launcher into the new system
  2. From the system where UE4 is installed, go to Epic Games Launcher installed folder ( eg: C:\Program Files\Epic Games ). The corresponding version to installed UE4 is listed under this sub directory. Copy the sub-director (eg: 4.9, 4.10, …) in the new system’s Epic Games launcher path
  3. At that time, you can launch UE4 Editor by worwsing for UE4Editor.exe file and executing it but EU4 is not listed into the launcher. To solve this issue we most do additionnal stuff
  4. From the old system, go to C:\ProgramData\Epic\EpicGamesLauncher\Data\Manifests . ProgramData folder is by default hidden. Look for .manifest files.
The last .manifest file corresponds to the last UE4 version installed into the old system
  5. Copy the corresponding .manifest into the new system. Don’t forget to respect the path. Use the same path ( C:\ProgramData\Epic\EpicGamesLauncher\Data\Manifests )
  6. Ant that’s all

Enjoy :]

Note: if the news systeme is a windows fresh install, don’t forget to install the last Window DirectX
